MyPoints is one of the biggest 'get
paid to' programs. They don't pay in
cash, but in "points" which can be redeemed for merchandise
or gift certificates with many major retailers. MyPoints wants a
lot of information from you; however, they're a publicly traded
company (Nasdaq: MyPt) and their web site carries an impressive array
of privacy seals, including Trust-e, BBOnLine, and RASCi.

TheMail.com
When you think of getting paid for
reading email, your first thought may be that you get paid for reading
ANY email, but most programs work by sending you email from various
companies, which you must read and go to their web site to get
paid. However, TheMail.com does in fact pay just for reading or
sending ANY email. This works by having ads displayed on their
free email site, so as long as you're at that site reading or sending
email, the companies can advertise directly to you. However,
they don't pay you directly; instead, they only pay for the emails
your indirect referrals read or send.

PaidEmail has just changed (as of 4/12/00). Their
program is now much better, offering a payout of $0.03 to $3.00
per email you receive and read from various companies in many
different categories. Their referral program also changed, with
you receiving 25% of direct referrals, then 10% and 5% for indirect
referrals. One interesting note is their customer service:
they offer an 'instant messenger' option whereby you can get direct
answers from a live person, which they claim to be a 24/7 offering.
